Weight Limit for Week 1 (more detail below):
Mite (3 & 4th Grade) 105 lbs
PeeWee (5 & 6th Grade) 130 lbs
Midget (7 & 8th Grade) 165 lbs
The weights above refer to the weight the player needs to be at, minus pads, prior to the first week of the season.
Old Colony Youth Football League (OCYFL) bylaws allow players with June birthdays to play with their grade regardless of the age requirements. For more info, please contact Greg Daly (email@example.com).
Mandatory Weigh-in with transport from Norwell High School
Players cannot play this season if you do not officially weigh-in.
When: Date is Sat 9/8, time 9:00am
Where: Norwell High School, on the field in front of the tennis courts (aka Dubai field).
– All players must be at NHS by 9:00am. The buses are leaving from NHS at 9:30am. If you’re not on the bus and don’t weigh-in you won’t be able to play this year – there are NO exceptions.
– School bus transportation will be provided from Norwell High School to Rockland High School (394 Union St., Rockland).
– BLUE HOME GAME JERSEY & SHORTS – no pads, helmet, or cleats.
– Let your Head Coach know of any issues as soon as possible.
Mite – No birth date prior to 07/01/08 (3rd & 4th Grade)
Age – No Mite player shall attain the age of ten (10) prior to July 1st, but must attain the age of seven (7) by July 1st.
Weight – At the official, scheduled weigh-in, the maximum weight will not exceed 105 pounds. If a player does not make weight, he/she will have an option to play as a Pee Wee.
However, if the player is between 106-115 lbs they will be allowed to be rostered and can work their way to eligibility. If the player is over 115 lbs, they have the option of being rostered with the PeeWees.
PeeWee – No birth date prior to 07/01/06 (5th & 6th Grade)
Age – No PeeWee player shall attain the age of twelve (12) prior to July 1st.
Weight – At the official, scheduled weigh-in, the maximum weight will not exceed 130 pounds. If a player does not make weight, he/she will have an option to play as a Midget.
However, if the player is between 131-140 lbs they will be allowed to be rostered and can work their way to eligibility. If the player is over 140 lbs at weigh-in they have the option of being rostered with the Midgets.
Midget – No birth date prior 11/15/03 (7th & 8th Grade)
Age – No Midget player shall attain the age of fifteen (15) prior to November 15th of the current year. However, no player, regardless of the aforementioned requirements, shall participate in the league if he or she is in the ninth grade of school. Any town found in violation of the rule shall forfeit each game determined to be in violation and be fined $100.00 for each occurrence.
Weight – At the official, scheduled weigh-in, the maximum weight will not exceed 165 lbs. Each player must make official weight. Otherwise, their name will be dropped from the roster.
However, if the player is between 166-175 lbs they will be allowed to be rostered for the year and can work their way to eligibility. Anyone over 175 lbs at weigh-in will be dropped from the roster and the offending town will be FINED.
Player Weight Limits Increase Each Week
Players must make the mandatory weigh-in – Sat 9/8/18.
Players will also be weighed in before each game.
Players that do not make weight or do not weigh in DO NOT PLAY that week.
2018 Weights and Weeks Assumes:
- 8 lbs of equipment for Mites and Peewees
- 10 lbs of equipment for Midgets
- 1 lb per week growth for all
